  3. What does it do?
  4. -Is your MP3 or picture folder full of files creted by dozens of different programs?
  5.  
  6. -Does it annoy you that a different program launches for every file you double click?
  7.  
  8. -Do you want to rename a large number of files?

  10. If You answered "yes" to any of the following then [info]Batcher is definitely a tool You need! It allowes you to change the types and creators of single files or whole folders. In addition it can automatically rename those files too and erase custom icons and much MUCH more!

  20. How does it work?
  21. -Drag and drop a file or a folder on the [info]Batcher window.
  22. -Choose the options you want to apply to the file or folder.
  23. -Click Apply!

  25. Type and Creator fields:
  26. -The type field defines what type the file should be. As a general rule you shouldn't change this field.
  27. -The creator field defines what application the file is associated with. For example, changing the creator code of an mp3 file to "hook" would associate the file with iTunes. So when you next double click the file, iTunes would open.
  28. -The 'Get From a File' button will let you select a file or a program from which you want to copy the type and creator information.
  29. -You can leave either one of the fields empty if you don't want to change the type or the creator.

  31. Rename:
  32. -You can choose to rename the file or files by checking the box next to Rename.
  33. -The new name will be of the type: "name0000extension", where 0000 is a sequential number.
  34. -For example, if you wanted to rename files in a folder to be of the type image0000.jpg, you would set name to "image" and extension to ".jpg". This would result in the files to be renamed to:

  36.  image0002.jpg
  37.  image0003.jpg
  38.  ...

  40. Options:
  41. -If you select the Erase Icons option, Info Batcher will erase any custom icons from the file. This is useful because some applications assign custom icons to the documents and just chaning the creator will not change the icon.
  42. -If you select Apply to Subfolders option, Info Batcher will apply the changes to all files within the subfolders (and sub-sub-folders etc) of the folder you have selected.
